7 Days in Morocco: Complete Itinerary
One week is the classic length for a first trip to Morocco. This itinerary links Marrakech, the great dunes of Merzouga and the ancient city of Fes, with dramatic mountain and desert scenery in between. It can be reversed or adjusted to your pace.

Day 1 — Marrakech
Arrive and settle into a riad. Explore the medina, souks and Jemaa el-Fnaa square.
Day 2 — Marrakech to Dades Valley
Cross the Tizi n'Tichka pass, visit Ait Ben Haddou, then continue to the Dades Valley for the night.
Day 3 — Dades Valley to Merzouga
Travel via the Todra Gorge to Merzouga, then camel trek into the dunes for a night at a desert camp.
Day 4 — Merzouga
Sunrise over the dunes, optional 4x4 or sandboarding, and time to enjoy the Sahara.
Day 5 — Merzouga to Fes
A long, scenic drive north through the Middle Atlas and cedar forests to Fes.
Day 6 — Fes
